BOOK REVIEW: THE CASE OF THE UNICORN MYSTERY

THE CASE OF THE UNICORN MYSTERY
Heather Alexander
Harper Entertainment
2005

Available: Paperback

Twins Mary-Kate and Ashley are on vacation to visit their friend, Lindsay. When they arrive, a mystery is waiting. Lindsay has been growing tulips for a flower contest she won the year before. It doesn't look like she'll win this year.
Someone or something is ripping the flowers off their stems.  The clues point to a hungry unicorn but is that even possible? Unicorns don't exist. Or do they? Mary-Kate and Ashley have to put their detective skills to the test to solve this mystery.
This is a nice early reader mystery. The clues are well placed and the girls use age appropriate logic to solve the secret. Plus there's a little humor to delight the young reader.

Target audience: Early Readers
Mystery / suspense: good
Kid appeal: Girls

ANOTHER EARLY READER:
MOONLIGHT ON THE MAGIC FLUTE
