Seventeen-year-old Jenna wakes up from a year-long coma and can't seem to remember anything about herself. Her parents tell her that she was in an accident and is recovering at their new home on the other side of the country. It's all very confusing because nothing feels right and she begins to suspect her parents aren't telling her the truth. Or at least, not the whole truth. Which means she has a lot of questions. Like why is her father still living in Boston and they're in California? Why does her grandmother seem to dislike her? Why can't she go to a real school? As she watches family videos chronicling her life, snatches of memories begin to emerge and she realizes her parents don't want her to discover secrets they've hidden from both her and the authorities.
Set in a near future America, THE ADORATION OF JENNA FOX is a fascinating read as Jenna tries to unravel the mystery of her past, present and future. What really makes this story work is that Jenna's voice is real and authentic.

TARGET AUDIENCE:  grades 8-12
MYSTERY / SUSPENSE: excellent
KID APPEAL:  high for girls
