THEODORE BOONE: THE ABDUCTION is the third book in the kid lawyer
Theodore Boone mystery series.
Thirteen-year-old Theodore Boone's friend April has
disappeared. The clues are thin and the police's investigation is moving slower
than mud running uphill. He decides to start his own investigation. With the
help of few close friends and his Uncle
Ike, he tracks down a chain of clues that lead nowhere. When the dead body
of an unidentified girl washes ashore, things get dicey. Could it be April? If
not, will they find her in time to save her from a similar fate?
Although Theodore is only thirteen, he reads more like a
fifteen-year-old and the issues raised such as drug use during the course of
the story are more appropriate for a young adult reader than a middle grader.
The mystery is good, Theodore is likable and mystery readers should enjoy the
ride.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Grades 8-10
MYSTERY / SUSPENSE: good
KID APPEAL: traditional mystery lovers
