Simon
(age 11), Henry (age 10), and Jack (age 6) are the Barker brothers. Their family
has just moved to rural Arizona. It's a long way from Chicago, Illinois. At
least there seems to be a lot of neat places to explore. Of course their
parents ruin it by warning them to stay away from Superstition Mountain and the
nearby ghost town. Several people have mysteriously disappeared and died on the
mountain over the years. Usually the boys obey their parents, but when the
family cat disappears they have find her even if it leads them onto the
mountain. Which it does. The trail is dangerous and the place definitely feels
creepy. Even more so, when they stumble on three human skulls. Not wanting to
tell their parents and risk getting in trouble, they decided to solve the
mystery of who died themselves with the help of their new neighbor Delilah.
MISSING
ON SUPERSTITION MOUNTAIN reads like a modern day Hardy Boy mystery with plenty
of mystery and adventure woven into a blanket of unexplained deaths, a
legendary goldmine, and a town hiding its secrets from its children. What kid
wouldn't enjoy the excitement of a new and strange place riddled with
superstition and the quest for treasure.
