M Freeman isn't your typical girl
next door. She lives with her mom who travels on business most of the time.
This leaves M at home with tutors. And although she's been homeschooled her whole life, it feels
normal. Then an invitation arrives,
inviting her to attend the very private, very prestigious and very secret Lawless School. After a whirlwind entrance examine, she's accepted and whisked off to the school. It's not your ordinary school. All the classes are about crime: hacking and cracking codes, lies and alibis, counterfeiting, disguises and distractions. Not, how to solve the criminal acts, but how to commit them without getting caught. The strangest part, is that it all feels like her destiny. Still, attending this special school isn't easy. It's hard for M to make friends and even harder to know who she can trust. It seems she has secret enemies, both on staff and in the student body.

This was a really great read. Who
wouldn't want to learn how to become a master thief? It's full of twists,
turns, action, danger and intrigue. From page one, the reader will be pulled
into M's world. I give this book a big thumbs up.
Target audience: Grades 6-8
Mystery/suspense: Super
Kid appeal: High
