BOOK REVIEW: THE HALLOWEEN GOBLIN

PIXIE TRICKS:
THE HALLOWEEN GOBLIN
Tracey West
Scholastic
2000

Available: paperback, school binding

Violet is on a mission. She's helping her fairy friend Sprite to capture fourteen mischievous pixies that have escaped from their world. This is the fourth book in the series. This time they have two imps to catch. Buttercup delights in giving
everyone the hiccups. The Halloween Goblin is bent on scaring everyone. It will take all of Violet and Sprite's cunning to stop these double tricksters, that is if they can.
This early reader should delight both girls and boys alike with fairies, goblins and pixies. The progression of the plot is age appropriate and the scares are as much fun as scary. Younger kids should enjoy it. Plus it comes with stickers.

Target audience: grades 4-5
Mystery / suspense: okay
Kid appeal: good
