A WEEK OF BOOK REVIEWS

TILL DEATH DO US BARK
Kate Klise
Harcourt Children's Books
2011

Available: hardcopy, paperback, Kindle

Seymour has been adopted into the most unusual family, and that's okay because the boy is unusual himself. Plus, he's an artist. At first he isn't totally happy and this is the story of how and why he runs away. It all
started when a shaggy dog arrives at the Spence Mansion. Seymour is delighted and calls the dog, Secret. As he searches for Secret's real owner, he discovers the dog has secrets of his own.
The story is told through a series of drawings, letters, news articles, posters and legal documents. Along with Seymour, the reader has to pour through the documents to solve the mystery. It's fun and clever.

Target audience: Grades 4-6
  Mystery / Suspense: fun
Kid appeal: Good
