Max is a middle-grade student. His parents are total clean freaks and make his life miserable because they expect him to be squeaky clean, too! Which is not cool. One day he slips and lands in a giant puddle of mud something totally weird happens. He suddenly has superpowers.
Of course he has to keep all of this a secret from his parents. they would freak out. with the help of his friends Patrick and Irie, they explore the mystery of the Marsh Creek marsh swamp.
This is a really fun graphic novel and the concept is great. Boys especially, even reluctant readers, will enjoy this story. It's fun, mysterious and full of muck. The art work is well done and I especially that it's all in mud-tones.

Target audience: Grades 5-7
Mystery/ suspense: very good
Kid appeal: Boys will love
