BOOK REVIEW: A TANGLE OF KNOTS

A TANGLE OF KNOTS
Lisa Graff
Puffin Books
2013

Available: paperback, Kindle, hardcover

Eleven-year-old Cady seems to have almost magical powers because she can make make the perfect cake for anyone she meets. Why? Because she has a special talent for it. Talent with a capital "T." Not everyone has a special talent and those that do, sometimes have talents that aren't always useful. She's adopted and leaves the orphanage she grew up on and moves into an apartment building. Its a building of all sorts of interesting people.
A girl in search of her special talent. Other kids with talents that land them trouble or into unexpected adventures. And then there is the Talent Thief.
This was a different kind of mystery. One wrapped in quiet magic and self-discovery. The reader is pulled along into the strange and yet normal world of Cady. It was a bit of a compelling read.
