The Third-Grade Detectives visit local the art museum on a field trip and find themselves in another mystery. A priceless fifteenth-century statue of Joan of Arc has been stolen. It's on loan from a Paris museum. The detectives eagerly offer to
help in the investigation, but before they even get started the statue located in a thousand pieces in a dumpster. Now why would some steal a valuable statue and then smash it to pieces?
   The mystery is well plotted and challenges young readers to put on their thinking caps to unravel the mystery along with the third grade detectives. Another plus is that kids will learn a little science while tracking down and solving the crime.
