Callie Velasquez lived most of her life in the city before moving to the country. She's settled into a new high school, made two new friends and most important has a boyfriend. The three girls decided to go on a wilderness camping trip and Callie can't resist inviting Jeremy to join them. The other two girls aren't excited about having him along but grudgingly agree to let him to tag along. The four teens set out for their week in the woods. Callie feels like a fish out of water. The
wildness of the forest is un-nerving. she hears strange sounds and begins imagining all sorts of crazy thoughts. Then they lose most of their food supply and take a wrong turn only to become lost. It's a nightmare and Callie can't shake the feeling that someone or something is out there and following them.
The book is more than a scary, don't go down those stairs kind of story. It's about teen relationships and perceptions. It's well written and teens will enjoy the thriller suspense as Callie tries to unravel the truth of what she thinks she knows. And who she can trust.
