BOOK REVIEW:MY BIG FAT ZOMBIE GOLDFISH

MY BIG FAT ZOMBIE GOLDFISH
Mo O'Hara
Macmillan
2013

Available: Hardcopy, paperback, Kindle

Tom's big brother gets a chemistry set and decides to experiment on a goldfish named Frankie. Even though tom tries to stop him, his brother dips the fish in toxic green gunk. It's dying. Tom has to save the fish so he zaps it with a battery to bring it back to life. It works, but Frankie isn't the same fish. He's bigger. He's a little strange looking. And now he has hypnotic powers. When Tom's big brother realizes this, he hatches an evil plan to use Frankie's new powers. Tom has to stop his brother before it's too late.
The story is crazy, zany and a lot of fun. There's lots of age appropriate goopy humor and action. A crime to stop. And suspense. Kids will love the crazy antics of Tom and Frankie the zombie goldfish.

Target audience: grades 3-5
Mystery/ Suspense: fun
Kid appeal: Very good
